Business designer, Shanghai

What you will be doing

MING Labs is looking for a Business Designer to join our Shanghai team. In this position, you’ll play an active role in identifying our clients’ most promising opportunities for new value creation and capture and translate them into new value propositions which are desirable, feasible and viable. You will support our client to develop internal capabilities, to drive innovation and deliver value. We are looking for a designer who thinks deeply about people and processes, and can advocate the role of business design within the company. Here are some of your main responsibilities:

Support and leads discovery projects and execute on all parts of the business design process: challenge framing, research (qual and quan), proposition development, prototyping, user testing and business model development.

Conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies and synthesising the output into: personas, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, value propositions, scenarios, etc. in order to identify or validate products/services opportunities.

Conduct trend analysis and competitor research in order to unlock business opportunities, develop business concepts, models and organizational frameworks to support our clients drive innovation and business growth.

Support the design and testing of new products, services, or consumer experience.

Plan and support workshops with internal and external stakeholders.

What we are looking for

3+ years of experience within business design and leading strategic projects.

You have a deep understanding of how to conduct business analysis and synthesize multiple sources of data to derive actionable insights.

You have experience working with Design Thinking and Lean/Agile methodologies.

You’re a team player and experienced in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including designers and developers.

Proficiency in English. Chinese is a plus.

Willingness to travel and work on-site with our clients when needed.
