We are a truly global user experience design
and
development company.

This is what we do

At MING Labs, we work with our clients and partners to create and improve all of their touch pointsresulting in user experiences that engage, inspire, and delight.

  • User Experience Design

A great user experience is one of the best competitive advantages that a company can have. We craft digital products across all screens and platforms, aiming to create magic for our users. That's what we design and code for. And we're only happy once the user's eyes are shining.

  • Business & Service Model Design

Our passion for digital products is end-to-end — and that includes the creation of smart business and service models around them. We think holistically. It's not just about pretty pixels, but the concept, the service, and all surrounding touchpoints. You come to us with an idea, we in turn improve it, and develop it into a real product. Not just an app.

  • Data Visualization

Our team of data visualization experts loves nothing more than to dive deep into sets of big data and discover underlying patterns. How to find the best ways to visualize stories that data tell, so that they are no longer complex but easy to understand? Don't worry. Our experts are already on their mission to create intuitive insights for the user.

  • Product Concept Creation

Over the past years, we launched a whole array of products and learned what works — and what doesn't. Though the word 'experience' might sound a bit dusty, we have gathered so much that it would be foolish not to share it with our clients and partners. Besides, creating product concepts with a compelling value proposition is just something we love to do.

Working with us is simple. Whatever your business needs: we've got you covered. These are the four most common ways to collaborate with us, and they can be combined however needed.

  • Magic Sprint

Having a vision is great. But how do you convince an investor of your venture idea? Or an internal stakeholder of your digital initiative? By showing them what this might look like, in a very concrete and straightforward way. We call this a Magic Sprint. You and our best people will do a focused conceptual and design sprint together. This includes user-needs driven ideation and refinement of concepts, creation of high-level wireframe click dummies, and a beautiful art direction: all you need to deliver magic and unlock that big budget.

  • Co-Venturing

Today, companies are made up of ideas. You as a founder have to spend big money on much of the digital expertise out there. Don't do that. You do not want to run just a project, but rather a venture with long-term impact. Together with a team that shares your vision and passion for what you want to create. We are the right partner for you. Instead of just taking a project fee in exchange for services, we drastically reduce your initial investment by converting a part into equity. We share the risk, align our incentives, and become your co-founder and long-term partner—with all our expertise.

  • Retainer

The retainer will be your tool of choice for recurring and unpredictable needs around our core competencies. We will have a solid yet flexible partnership allowing you to secure our expertise long-term to cover all of your requests that may arise. Need a designer this week and a developer next week? No worries! This way, you can either strengthen your internal digital team or outsource it completely, working with us as your digital partner.

  • Projects

"I need a new website!", "I need an internal communication app!"... Great if you already have a good idea of your needs around a specific digital artifact. Because this is the classic setup for a project engagement. We can sit down together right away and ask you lots of questions to understand your goals and needs. Then we'll know who of our people will be the best fit for your project. With this team, we will guide you through the process step by step: from refining the concept, designing a great user experience, to implementing the digital solution you were looking for. Happy users included.

Our client portfolio spans from co-venturing setups to enterprise projects. Here are some of the great companies weve been fortunate to work with.

Join the team

You share our passion for great design? You dream about future technologies? Awesome! Sounds like we should get to know each other. As a first step, you can check out what we think makes a great working environment.

  • Be on top of things

We support you in attending conferences and workshops, or in buying books or the latest geeky stuff you need to improve your craft.

  • Travel the world

We encourage our team to work from a different office — Shanghai, Singapore, Berlin — for some time. Our diverse culture and background are a huge gift and we support you in traveling and meeting our people from around the world.

  • Try and succail

Whether you succeed or fail at trying something new, we will value you either way. We know how important it is to give something a try. And if there's anything we can do to help you realize a nutty technological experiment or an insane app idea, we will.

  • Be free and responsible

Our pace is fast, we expect innovation, and we play just as hard as we work. But we also provide you with the freedom to achieve your best personal results. Acting responsibly and making sound decisions — in other words, being your own manager — is what we rely on.

Where would you like to work?

Please bring with you at least four years of professional experience in UX/UI design, very good skills in both interaction and visual design, and good knowledge of web and mobile development. We appreciate a diplomatic and pragmatic design approach and your ability to quickly structure functional problems of various degrees of complexity. We look forward to hearing from you!

Please bring with you skills in HTML5, JavaScript (not just jQuery) and CSS3, and an eye for taming the beast known as IE8. It would also be great if you had knowledge of a few back-end systems (NodeJS and/or Python/Django) and experience with responsive web development and mobile-first approaches. We look forward to hearing from you!

You have at least basic knowledge of common web development techniques, so you can talk to development teams and even build simple prototypes in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript yourself. Any experiences with popular data visualization frameworks such as D3 are a big plus. We look forward to hearing from you!
