What you will be doing

Invenda is looking for a creative and self-motivated UI/UX designer to join their Berlin team.

Invenda is a long-term client and partner of MING. We’ve been collaborating closely and are currently co-habiting our Berlin studio with them. Now that they are looking to establish their own in-house UX team, we thought we could help them by posting this job opening here as well as supporting the interview process.

A bit about the company: The Invenda Group AG is bringing automated retail technology into the future. Currently actively operating in 15 countries, they serve customers from a broad range of industries, including FMCGs, convenience and specialty retail, vending operators and many more. Invenda is transforming the automated retail industry, such as vending machines, smart fridges, digital signage screens and more into smart devices that are connected to the cloud and take full advantage of AI and the internet of things.

Invenda is looking to create state-of-the-art User Experience for their users interacting with their Machine Sales Application (HMI), CMS (back-office web application) and mobile app that offer an engaging UI Design and performative interfaces to meet the needs of different use cases in the best way.

Some of your most important work will revolve around…

You'll design for an innovative product in the automated retail technology sector by supporting the team in the different phases of the design process, from research to ideation, with special focus on visual exploration and production.

You'll shape easy-to-use interfaces and engaging interactions through user-centered design, creating exciting screens to test directly with users.

Understanding retail industry, product specifications, and user psychology

Considering the Sales Application interaction (HCI) element of a design

Working with the Invenda team and customers on building the best product

Defining interaction models, user task flows, and UI (user interface) specifications

Communicating design ideas and prototypes to developers

What Invenda is looking for

3+ years of experience in UI Design

Strong UX understanding is a must-have, and if you bring some magic power in UI on top – even better

You have experience working with interaction design principles and skills including concept sketching, creating interaction models, wireframing, following all the visual design stages from storyboards to final hand-off and development.

You are passionate about user-centered design.

You are comfortable with designing software for wireframing, prototyping, and micro animations (e.g. Figma, Principle).

You have experience working in international teams, and you know how to communicate effectively in English. German would be a plus.

You are passionate about creating products that resonate emotionally with people.

You have great communication skills and feel comfortable working closely with different external and internal stakeholders.
